Identifying the Challenge
The Social Problem:
In Korea in 2024, the right to move for the disabled is suppressed, and the unemployment and isolation problems of the disabled are serious. Therefore, it is necessary to create a comprehensive support app for the lives of the disabled to help them become self-reliant and to enable them to enjoy an equal life as much as the disabled are non-disabled.
Innovation and Uniqueness
Why Our Project Stands Out:
Our map app caters to disabled users, facilitating proactive engagement. It offers tailored route guidance with obstacle markers and utilizes buffer technology to highlight disability infrastructure on the main screen. Additionally, it provides personalized employment information and vocational programs using the AHP technique for tailored services, setting it apart from other map apps.
Insights and Development
Learning Journey:
We spent a lot of time filtering out valid data due to duplicates when loading data. Additionally, in non-metropolitan areas, there's significantly less data compared to metropolitan areas, which limits the effectiveness of the Barrier-Free App. To address this, we've decided to propose sharing facility statistics with both private and public institutions to promote welfare support and infrastructure expansion. It aims to advance disability welfare by providing access to practical infrastructure based on user-reported facility information in the Barrier-Free app.
Development Process:
We parsed XML files, displayed a map on an HTML page, and designed UI with Uizard. Our app includes basic map functions and user-specific features like grayscale themes for color blindness. Users can also register or report facilities, enhancing engagement and aiding policy research.
